Children's Birthday Parties

 Date: 3/15/2016
 Starting Time: 11:00:00 AM
 Ending Time: 2:00:00 PM

Birthday parties are special events at Stanley-Whitman House, designed for children ages 6-12 years old. Children can choose from several themes:

Ø Tea Party:
Children wear mop caps and/or tri-corn hats and aprons and learn about the history of tea, learn how tea was served, and practice the proper etiquette involved at a formal
tea party.
Ø Colonial Musical Instruments:
Children wear mop caps and/or tri-corn hats and play various instruments popular during Colonial times, including the penny whistle and drum, and learn of events when this music was played.
Ø Colonial Toys and Games:
Children wear mop caps and/or tri-corn hats and learn a variety of games played by our ancestors, including jacks, tops, and checkers, with ample time to play these games.
Ø Making Herbal Sachets:
Children wear mop caps and/or tri-corn hats and learn of various herbs grown in a Colonial kitchen garden, and create their own sachet of fragrant herbs.
Ø Decorating Sugar Cookies:
Children wear mop caps and/or tri-corn hats and aprons and work with rolled cookie dough to cut several shapes then decorate cookies to eat or bring home.

Directions:

A birthday party at Stanley-Whitman House includes admission for 10 guests and 2 adult chaperones for a theme-related party with activities lasting a total time of one hour and thirty minutes.

A presenter will be dressed in colonial clothing and work with the children for the duration of the party. We will provide your choice of a 13” X 9” sheet cake or 24 cupcakes and juice, candles, paper products [plates, napkins and cups], and utensils, along with the clean up. The fee for birthday parties is $150.00. All parties take place on Saturdays, either at 11 am or at 2 pm.

Parents may bring an 8’ tablecloth if they like; otherwise we will provide a checked tablecloth. You may bring balloons, but we ask that they NOT be helium, due to the fire hazard. If you would like to add a house tour to your birthday party, an additional fee per guest will be charged. We will be happy to accommodate you, but this must be mentioned upon party registration to allow for additional staff.
To register for a birthday party or for more information about party themes, you can email or phone us at Stanley-Whitman House. Parties must be scheduled two weeks in advance, and payment is required at the time of registration.
