Special Events & Programs

Program registration is processed on a first come first served basis. You may register by phone, (860) 677-9222, in person, by mail or online. Payment options are credit card, check, or cash. Your membership must be current at the time the program meets in order to receive the member discount. Museum staff reserves the right to cancel classes for insufficient enrollment. You will be notified at least three working days in advance if a program is cancelled. Cancellations with at least forty-eight hours notice will receive a refund.

Down on the Smith-Whitman Farm

This program provides a unique hands-on experience for children with farm animals and birds. The week is centered at Stanley-Whitman House, and incorporates a visit to a local farm for a total farm experience. Mornings will be spent with real farm aniimals or birds, learning about and caring for them. The afternoon will be filled with activities about the animals we've met that morning.

Details about each day will be available in late February.

Directions:

Ages: This program is for children ages 6-10 years.

Dates: Program hours each day: 9:30 AM - 2:30 PM

Lunch: Children bring their own bagged lunches

Clothing attire: Dress to work with farm animals, wear closed-toe shoes

Cost: $190 for the week

A packet of information will be sent to parents or guardians upon receipt of payment.
